A significant portion of biomedical applications necessitates the optimized development of an interface between cells and surrounding biomaterials. Our lab aims to understand and engineer the cell-biomaterial interface with the ultimate goal of developing cell-based gene therapies. We pursue a new paradigm for solving human disease problems with cell-based gene therapy through a combined approach of matrix engineering and genome-wide screening.
